Who are we?
Sticks & Stones Axe Co is a husband and wife team that started with a mobile axe throwing trailer. After deeply enjoying providing an opportunity to liven up events and share our love of axe throwing with our community we decided to take it a step further. In November 2021 we started renovating our space in Franklin. We opened up Feb 2022 and can't wait for you to come throw with us!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is it safe?YES! It’s a lot of fun too! Each thrower will be assigned an axe throwing coach that will go over proper throwing technique and all of our safety rules.
-
Do you serve Alcohol?Yes! We have a variety of local canned beer, spiked seltzers, hard cider, sodas, teas, and water. All our servers are licensed through the state of TN and will monitor any patron for intoxication. If anyone appears to be inebriated or unable to throw safely, they will be asked to just watch for the remainder of the throwing time.
-
Can any age come throw? Our minimum throwing age is 10 years old. Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and have a parent or guardian sign a wavier for them. Any children under age 10 are welcome to accompany the party as long as they are closely supervised. Changing tables are available in the women’s restroom. Everyone knows new parents could use a night out but might not have a sitter, but need to blow off a little steam. Ear protection is recommended for little ones as it can get loud.
-
Cancellation Policy? You may cancel your booking up to 24 hours prior to your throwing time for a full refund. Any cancellations after that will not be refunded, and you will forfeit your deposit. It is best to arrive 15-20 minutes early. If you show up after your scheduled throwing time, you will not be given extra time. Reservations fill up quickly so it is likely there will be someone else waiting to use your lane after your scheduled time. However you will be given whatever time is left to still throw.
-
Do you have to make a reservation?Nope! However, bookings fill up quickly. So to make sure you get a spot at the time you want, a reservation is strongly recommended. You can reserve a lane on our website or feel free to give us a call. Walk-ins are also welcome.
-
Will we have to throw with people we don’t know? No! Each lane has a maximum of 4 throwers, but can be booked for 2-4 people and will be reserved for only your group. If you have a party larger than 4 people you will be assigned 2 lanes next to each other. If you have more than 20 people give us a call and we can do the booking for you..
-
Do you serve food?We have small bags of chips and popcorn available for purchase! You may bring in food for your group. We just ask that you be considerate of others in the facility with strong smells and sticky fingers on axes. For private bookings (where you have rented out the entire facility) we do have some local catering recommendations available if you would like them, but you are welcome to bring whatever food you would like. Email us at sticksandstonesaxeco@gmail.com or send us a contact message through our website.
-
Can I Rent the entire facility? You sure can!!! We are great for birthday parties, bachelor/ette parties, corporate events and so much more! Email us at sticksandstonesaxeco@gmail.com to set that up.
-
Do I need to bring anything with me??Most importantly, a good attitude Second, CLOSED TOE SHOES. No one will be allowed to throw without closed toe shoes. Other than that we will provide everything else you may need. Just wear something you feel comfortable throwing in.
-
Can I bring my own axes? You may bring in your own axe as long as it meets WATL standards for hatchets. You can find these standards at https://worldaxethrowingleague.com/official-axes-coming-soon/ . However, you do not NEED to bring an axe with you. We have plenty of axes available in multiple sizes. You can also buy your own competition style axe at our location.
